That isn't a min wage problem, that's an industry/education problem. Not enough higher paying jobs. Raising min will cut jobs if it is big.
But.. you can: 75-150 bucks on groceries a month, 500-600 rent (gonna have be shitty). You will be poor... its an unskilled job.
Actually it was designed to just be above the poverty line for one person. It is, but not by much now, it needs a hike, not that much tho.
Ye, probably sooner though if that wage hike happens, old Mick D eliminates those cashiers and turns those registers around.
15 dollars? Doubling the minimum wage? This couldn't go wrong at all.
Damn good point, problem is a wage hike too large may drive those single moms into the streets with the cut jobs. Gotta be careful.
They are paying their employees enough to live, just not enough to support a family by themselves alone. Not what those jobs are for.
Minimum wage isn't the way to go about that, it would probably be best to improve industry here.
