got a desk clock I made out of a conrod a few years ago on my desk and as its inside and dry it hasnt shown any rust so these should be fine
no, unfortunately if I did then the touch probably wouldnt work as it works on conductivity
yeah, basically stripped down a touch lamp and used the components, you earth it out with each touch
