For making it easier to sweep the dust out of the corners. Didn't have vacuums back then, and if you ever used a broom, it is annoying as heck to try and get something out of a corner like that. Multiply that with a couple hundred steps and 2 corners per step, and it is a big time consumption for a maid in a big house.

Oh, we also use the "half five" thing when telling time. "Half five" is 4:30.It takes a little bit to get used to translating it into the English "half past" way.
Children just memorise which names goes with which "tens". Most people don't even know what it actually means, and we don't even say the "20" part any more.
The thing is that I'd bet that more than half of Danes do not understand where the names for the numbers come from. They just memorised the names and numbers they correspond to.We have even dropped the "twenty" part completely 50+ years ago, so the math doesn't even make sense.
Yeah, Danish numbers are fucked. It is even kinda worse than this makes out to be. 92 would be "two and half five twenties".But "half five" is not the half of five, nor is it "five and a half". It is four and a half. And the "twenties" part is completely dropped in modern Danish, we essentially just say "two and four and a half-ies"

For people who don't know the story: After a win in the 1986 soccer world championship, a group of pilots and mechanics decided to secretly paint one of the Danish airforce's Draken fighters with the Danish flag. But just the top side so no one could tell from below. However, when passing over the Danish royal yacht, the pilot decided it was a shame to not properly salute the ship and inverted the plane.
Oh no, that is definitely whiplash! That is going to cost someone a lot of treats in compensation!
He was also quite fair about it. It was just a joke, he was not a politician and he never wanted the seat. So he refused to let his vote serve as the swing vote in any parliament matters.
He also promised more tailwind on the bike lanes. Which still regularly comes up in conversation around here :P
*writes note for later* Make tennis ball key chains to fit to the massive bag of coke...
That is there to give the cyclists a safe space to stop before crossing the road and continuing wherever the bike lane continues...
At this point I am not sure what is worse... That AI generates shit like that, or that the people who use AI to generate shit like this are too stupid to see how crap this shit is and think it is worth sharing...
Always mark all the grip locations with a bit of tape, non-permanent marker, pencil etc. and then double check the locations are correct :P
