That's exactly why the "AI" boosters try to be as inexact as possible about what kind of program they are actually talking about. If everything and their uncle is "AI", then it's harder to criticise the problematic stuff. "Ah, you are against AI? Then you must be against diagnosing cancer!"

Despite my ranting (which is just an Austrian thing) I can recommend a visit though. Most people here are nice, the landscape is stunning (if you like mountains: Tyrol, if you hate mountains: Burgenland), the beer is good, the food outstanding. Vienna is number one on the Economist's Global Liveability Index. Public transport is near perfect in cities and, well, OK-ish in rural areas. As an integral part of the Holy Roman Empire, Austria has a rich history and culture, so lots to see.

Here it depends. In the cities public transport is used by rich and poor people alike, but in rural areas many people see public transport as a "poor people" thing too.
It isn't much different here in Europe - especially in Germany and Austria...
