Oh it's for sure not a recluse. I've not actually seen any in GA myself, had them all over in Missouri though.
Definitely seems to be some kind of trapdoor spider! I've never seen one around here either, as a bug guy I was just excited to find a big spider lol. Apparently the females live 15-20 years. Sweet dreams tonight! :D
But they get all defensive when I mock them for wearing coats when it's only 50 and no wind.
I'm in the fire dept, and they make fun of me for sweating when it's mid-70s.
I'm a midwest transplant to Atlanta, and it is such a difference.

My girl calls me "ABF" for "always be fightin", because in that instance I would rile up instead of recoil. But still would not have peed.

In my two years at a busy department though, I have one live save, and everything coming together to make it happen was amazing.

This came out as a med call. No mention of the truck.
It had been by a small creek for a while, so that's just residual dirt
It came out as cardiac arrest, possible obvious death, notes mentioned wrapped in blanket and bound with duct tape
