I would point out he used a comparative term. 'More than.' This does not necessarily imply high or even moderate levels of trust. It is just that our trust in American corporations not abusing the data in ways that will harm us or selling it to organizations that will harm us, or lose it do to poor security, etc. is so low that Chinese corporations are going to look good in comparison. (Though I am willing to bet they will look good in comparison solely due to lack of experience with them.)

The wealthy have been REPEATEDLY threatening to leave if taxed since at least 2009. (Spoiler Alert, they don't leave even when taxed.) I can think of at least 12 different times this threat was aired on Fox News.
& if they did leave, "So what?" We would just be getting rid of a parasite on society & someone else would step forward eager to make money in their place & then pay taxes on those profits.
