It's more common than you think. Especially among deeply religiously conservative minorities. They think they can go to a conservative place and then act like they can just be "one of the good ones" but then realize, to the white supremacists that make up the republican party, the only "good one" is a "dead one" or a subservient one. And even if they do embrace someone as a "good minority", they'll only be saved for last. Conservatism in any capacity is a mental disease.

So they are willing to suffer immensely under the brutality of a capitalist republican regime as long as they're certain that Black and Brown people are suffering more.
Good. If taxpayer money was used to fund a drug then no profit should be made from its sale. Drug companies will say all day long that costs are so high to recoup R&D costs but they will never admit how much of those "costs" are subsidized by taxpayer money.

They demand maximum profit per share and charging exorbitant fees for API access is one way to do that. The city could literally spend that same money housing the homeless which would give them a safe space from which to straighten their lives out, and get a positive outcome. But doing that is socialism, and paying cops overtime to perform sweeps of homeless camps isn't so guess which one happens.
I have long said, the republican platform, at its very core, its heart of hearts, boils down to "Who can I hurt? And how can I hurt them?"

It used to be, the news was presented as a service, subsidized by other programming. Entertainment subsidized the evening news. With the rise of 24/7 news operators like CNN, and Fox, and the consolidation of networks, news has become more and more the entertainment. And it has to be able to bring ratings. So everything is a horse race now. Say nothing of those organizations that do things like this in an effort to weaponize the news.
