While I don't work with electrical directly, I do work in a factory where such protocol like this exists. I do help set up the exclusion zones occasionally. So far, no incidents on site. We did have a panel fry, but no external arcing.
Not my comment, but a fair reminder. "You know your job is hazardous when the grim reaper wears PPE."
I have that swing. Extreme restraints website is where I got it. It does not come with the chains.
The gasses are poisonous, but the wind typically blows away from the area. Also, the viewing area is at least 3/4 of a mile away (I think its closer to a mile) from the closest you are allowed to be.

This is Kilauea south side of Halema'uma'u crater (19.3996291, -155.2864463) where it collapsed in 2018. The photographer is in a part of the park that is normally closed to the public, so they either have special permission or are trespassing.

This was about 30 years ago, but I was asking a representative about calling vs not calling and the impact. His response was his office considers every caller as having the view of ~1000 people. So the more calls they get, the more support there is for something. The next hurdle is actually getting the representative to try to take action...
