While I don't work with electrical directly, I do work in a factory where such protocol like this exists. I do help set up the exclusion zones occasionally. So far, no incidents on site. We did have a panel fry, but no external arcing.

This was about 30 years ago, but I was asking a representative about calling vs not calling and the impact. His response was his office considers every caller as having the view of ~1000 people.
