I told my boyfriend no Christmas gifts this year

Didn't know he was planning on getting me a puppy!! He told me I was going to want my Christmas present. He was right!!! Meet Copper

Can't have a Copper without a Todd

He only weighed 1.6lbs when we got him. So he needed a little sweater.

He naps funny

Merry Christmas from Copper!!

Edit: Thank you guys so much for making Copper go viral. I love reading all your comments!!! To clear a few things up. We had talked about getting puppy for over a year. We are finally in a place where a puppy was an option. I went with him to pick the puppy out. Send your puppies and kittens and pets !!!!

He's so precious!!

Always upvote the cute beagles! Challenging, noisy little escape-artists that eventually become couch-hounds & pro nappers.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Beagles are the frat boys of dogs. They're loud, they're always stealing your shit, but they are your best bro!

YES WELCOME TO THE BEAGLE CLUB THEY ARE THE BEST DOGS EVER 12/10 WOULD OWN AGAIN

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Guys adopt pets for Xmas. Also don't get someone a pet if they're not serious about keeping them forever!

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 2

We had been talking about it for about a year. I also picked the puppy out.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's really awesome. But still, just a friendly reminder. Glad you have an animal friend.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Adopting adult dogs is even better! Puppies for the most part have no problems getting adopted. I'd love to see more old dogs on Imgur.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

When my SO and I finally get enough room for a dog, we definitely plan on getting at least an adult dog. Puppies are sweet and cute, but 1/

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They are way more work than an adult, and like you said they're probably going to get adopted faster. Gee, thanks desktop imgur for making2/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me finish my comment on my phone because you're POTATOING OUT!/3

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Guys, just a friendly reminder. Glad she has an animal friend

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm sad I had to scroll so far down to find a comment like this :(

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I made a similar comment and was downvoted for it. I don't think people realize this is a potentially bad idea.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Nah just a friendly reminder. Glad she has an animal friend

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm glad too, OP says they discussed it before with an edit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seems OP really wants the pup and perhaps her and SO have discussed getting one previously and SO decided to get one for Christmas.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I gather that too, but that's from reading between the lines. She doesn't actually mention it and it can seem like surprising someone 1/

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

out of the blue with a dog/cat is a great idea, but after the initial excitement, there's a fair amount of work to do for them to be happy.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Take good care of him @OP, he's a good dog.

I just showed my cousin who has an 8 month old grown up begal pupper. Her eyes swelled up with cutness overload. She wants another tiny pup.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

He was the runt, so he was tiny it was so crazy! He's grown a lot in just a few weeks

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I rescued a beagle as kid. Honestly the best dog. so kind and full of energy.

Beagles- high maintenance for high fun

9 years ago | Likes 904 Dislikes 2

you have never had a chiwawa have you?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I don't know about maintenance but walks were always a pull issue. THEY MUST SNIFF EVERYTHING.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Both shelters I've worked at have had beagle cages (walls to roof and padlocked). They are masters of climbing and figuring out locks.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Had one. Let's just say they need a bit more of a country life than apartment life.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Beagle owner who used to live in an apartment. Night and day difference in dog now with a yard. He runs free all day and is chill now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never walk without a leash their sniffing takes over sometimes and you have to chase him down other than that I love my beagle!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This is 1000000% true!!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

life support system for a nose is what that is... still cute.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Horrible little dogs, but I loved mine so much

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

The barking is what made me unable to get this breed. Way too loud for my complex.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can train them to bark only when appropriate. They bay but really only when they are on a scent or there is a good reason to alert.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I have a rescue beagle. She lived in a medical warehouse for 4 1/2 years. She sleeps about 16 hours a day in front of the furnace vent.

9 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 0

My Beagle is 1.5yrs and she sleeps around 18hrs a day!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have adopted a total of 2 rescue beagles too. Pretty similar attitude, although she loves to howl at shadows.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Our adopted beagle was tied up or in a garage for 5 years. He spent 20 hours a day sleeping in warm places, 4 hours sniffing/barking/eating.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I have an adopted beagle too. She sleeps about 16 hours a day wherever I happen to be. Usually in my office on her office bed.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a list of multiple things my beagle has eaten that nearly killed him. Be careful with your trash and lock up the dog food :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk, mine is a beagle mix with Jack Russell and Bassett hound, so maybe that's why he's laid back and lazy?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My beagle can be a drama queen at times but he's all cuddles. Hates when my dad travels-venge pees by the front door. But lots of fun.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where the hell are you people getting all these high energy misbehaved beagles from? Mine was an angel that never seemed to be awake.

9 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Same. Mine was a crazy puppy but he chilled right out soon as he became full adult. He's a sleepy snuggle bunny.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine too! She loves to sleep!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have two and they're the same. Content to snuggle 80% of the time and eat my toddler's post-season mess the rest of the time.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

make sure you don't let him out of your sight for more than i minute @OP beagles tend to be wanderers

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have more energy than almost any dog I've ever had. That crown went to my Siberian husky.

9 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 0

Try a husky/malamute/wolf mix. Always wanted to kill something or just run for hours. I miss my buddy :')

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My in laws have a schipperke/mini aussie mix. The dog does. Not. Stop.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a collie/shepherd/husky mix. You could NOT get rid of the energy on that dog.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a husky, and am looking for a beagle...

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Check local shelters. People get them thinking LOLFUN! and forget that they are demanding little loveable bastards.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My husky/collie mix is the laziest dog. Sleeps 99% of the time.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My ex had two huskies and a beagle, and her mom walked them all at the same time. How, I'll never know.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a Tibetan spaniel that little fucking goes ape shit crazy to zonked in 2 seconds flat. Gotta love him though his cuddles are best.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Really? My boxer goes coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My dog wore out a Belgian Malinois and an Australian Shepherd... Like to the point that they collapsed and he was still bouncing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

my husky literally never runs at all...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a Jack Russell Terrier. Can someone direct me to its "off" switch???

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

My dad has discovered the off switch to his jack russell: 10 mile runs

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My boxer has way more hyper energy than my husky did. My husky was more long distance, boxer is a spazy sprinter.

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Boxers are wild, phenomenal energy that never tires on both of mine.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a boxer cross German shepherd cross collie. He is quite energetic.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Laser lights and laser light robots are great for boxers mine loves it

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine goes nuts! I put a light up collar on her and have her chase the laser on the farm at night. She is exhausted after 10 min. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They say dogs get sad if they do not catch anything but mine has never had problems. She is happy to just chase something. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ever had a kelpie? Good luck ever being able to relax!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's why I'm getting a mastiff. Super loving, hardly any energy.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Great Danes bro. They are the best dog in the world. They fit my personality so well. Tall, goofy, lovable, with hearts bigger than them.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They do have tons of energy though. Not good for new dog owners or people under 180 lbs.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1 Huskies are bonkers man. Work at a doggy daycare, we have one husky that will just trot around in a circle for hours at a time. Pro tip...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2 if you buy a dog that's been bread to pull stuff through the snow for miles and miles, and don't give them exercise, you're gonna have..

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

3 a bad time. Same thing with all types of working breeds. They need exercise, even more, they need structure, train them please.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Couldn't have said it better myself. Dogs are in fact indicative of their breeds, think about that before choosing one. Greats Danes ftw!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think Siberian huskies, Australian shepherds and Jack Russell terriers burn more calories than humans.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My Bull terrier never wants to stop playing

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

There's a pug/ pit bull mix at the pound I volunteer at. Heaven help you if he wrangles the leash into his mouth...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Take a picture ! I want to see that mix.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There may be one online. It's brindle and maybe half or 1/3 the size of a pit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ooh, today there was a Bassett, Pit mix. Now that was funny...
