Sounds like a saddle thrombosis. One of my cats got one not much they can do. Back legs quit working and started getting cold he was in a lot of pain did not end well :(

The small one in the early F-4s was for an IR sensor that was never installed later it was used to fit some radar warning stuff. The long one on the F-4E was for the Gatling gun and was later repurposed on the F-4G to hold wild weasel equipment
