My dad died in 1966 and this was an expression that he used on many occasions. He was career Navy, at one point an instructor at Great Lakes Naval Training Center, so I always figured it was just one of the many pithy sayings that I cannot get out of my head.

Not totally without incident. Younger brother was aboard the Nimitz in 1979 when the reactor had an “incident” essentially, a mini “3-Mile Island”. There crew had “I Survived 1/4 Mile Island” tee shirts made.

I, too, gauge the difficulty of any task by the amount of swearing required for completion.

Had a pair of dress blues when I was in college. They fit like a glove, were my favorite dressy pants (old school hippie chick) until, after half a pitcher of beer, it dawned on me exactly how long it took to unbutton 13 buttons.

Read “The Yarn of the Nancy Bell”. One of my favorite poems in childhood. Yes, I am that twisted.

Is it a scale, or is it ART? (Hint: It’s worth a buttload more if it’s ART…roughly $6.2 Million at Sotheby’s)

I have serious doubts that these were his words. He’s more the word salad type of guy.

I had a cat that used to poop in my kitchen sink, but only if the sink was empty. Gave me an excuse not to wash the dishes.

When I was a kid, my older sisters used to give me grief about my prehensile toes. It’s a gift.

It was before they were married. She appears in one of his campaign ads where he talks about this. The look on her face is priceless.

Grew up with an older sister who was a double amputee, (right arm and leg birth defect). Smart, funny, unstoppable

And if you watch him carefully, that’s exactly where he landed, slightly behind where he should have.

Four of us had this discussion over lunch today, after working a shift at our county Democratic headquarters, and we all had stopped doing business with known 45ers.

I worked for a very small non-profit as finance director. We had federal economic development money, so we had annual audits. We always got dinged because separation of duties was impossible with only 4 employees. I actually told my auditor that I was too stupid to steal.
