Why would Scotland have to cease exporting to the UK if they joined the EU?
Well, there's a big difference between Chris Hemsworth level and Arnie level.

People whose jobs are dependent on the single market, free movement, EU subsidies, current tariffs etc.
People are going to lose their jobs and careers over Brexit, so ya, some people are gonna have their lives ruined.

To be fair, Australia is pretty racist towards its Asian immigrants. And the immigration debate in US is also heavily clouded by xenophobia.
