We only see little pieces of these altercations on-line. A perceived threat is just that, the perception of the person being threatened. In my experience, each person has to determine, in that moment, whether or not the threat warrants an escalation or can be safely de-escalated. But asking, "I can hit her, right?" is kind of asinine.
Yeah...but, although the drunk is very annoying, is she really a threat? Asking random people at the bar if you can hit her isn't a sound legal defense. I did not expect that bitch to fold like a cheap suit.
