The reason Labor Day in the US is in September was to give lip service to unions and the labor movement but avoid any association with May 1st because of that date's association with actual struggles of the US Labor movement. In the US, the meaning of Labor day has been successfully suppressed by making it a meaningless holiday devoid of celebrations or commemorations other than as a weekend for end of summer BBQs or vacations.
Kids gotta learn. Dogs and siblings teach the importance of being aware of your environment and never letting your guard down.

Very real issue - many, many, MANY of these folks took menial jobs in health care. Through federal and state programs they got training, went to work, and have been doing the dirty work of caring for folks (particularly the elderly). This is already a field with a shortage of workers. This will devastate eldercare in a lot of facilities across the nation.

a standard NBA basketball is a bit more than 7000 cc in volume. Based on the size of the hands in the photo, those are definitely bigger than a basketball unless that is a particularly small individual.

There's a store in the Kroger family of brands that I shop at maybe twice a year when I can't find things elsewhere, so my history with them is sporadic and nearly random. So they keep sending me pathetic coupons like 25 cents off a can of store brand garbanzo beans or plastic forks because I bought those things to make a 3 bean salad for a BBQ once last summer.
Trump's demands for Canada sure have an Anschluss vibe. Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer seems to be the negotiating strategy.

The goal is to eliminate Social Security for two reasons - employers no longer have to contribute a few pennies a year for their portion of the contribution. Second, they want to force people into the stock market as the only way to fund retirement so private firms can siphon off the money.
I do not understand how a government official can be bound by an NDA. They are public officials, emphasis on public and any information they are given should be disclosed to the public if someone requests it.

Even during the height of the Pacific campaign in WW2, we did not have ships on station for so long with no shore leave, no friendly port, no relief from alert. While sailors might have long deployments, those deployments included a logistics fleet that included BARGES FILLED WITH ICE CREAM. We were able to manage that during the biggest conflict in human history and now we can't even keep these folks in soap and clean underwear.
