I will never forget the way I felt after bringing this home from blockbuster as a young teen and watching it alone in my basement. It was terrifying but I've watched it multiple times since
Sorry for the delayed reply. I've used it for both front end and back end development. I found it useful for generating tests (often in whole but at least in part through copilot completions) for unit testing pure functions. It also seems to do a fair job with things like destructuring, argument generation, and basic data structure completions in typed languages.
"Shortcut to knowledge" seems like a really great way to think of it
I use GPT 4 heavily in my daily workflow and it feels very clear that it is a tool which is built purely around statistical correlation, albeit a miraculous one that I very much appreciate. It has already and will continue to change the world, but it makes wild suggestions on the daily for me lol
That is glorious, looks like so much fun
It sucks losing unexpected money instantly but MAN does it feel good to not have credit card debt. Good job, respect
Same here. Sad to see so many people lamenting their 30s in this thread.
Man, what is this with the downvotes? I miss this kind of imgur content :( I need to browse 'new' more often. Thanks for posting, I miss this game
I'm not super surprised that there's cultural lag in other gender role areas here and there. I think the younger generations are just largely going to have this part of things figured out in the not too distant future. Good job :)
I think that dude is carrying one of those ball throwy things that helps you play fetch over longer distances <3
"Yes Man" is a really fun comedy :)
Sweet Christmas this is so cool! What size is the canvas?
The box is no longer the "root" I think since 100 squared is 10k
I backed the original Everspace on Kickstarter and loved it! I'm excited to get into Everspace 2, I just need to figure out what platform I should play it on.
This question comes around cyclically and imgur, reddit etc. flies off the handle about billionaires without parsing that 1% of global pop is 81,000,000 people and according to Wikipedia billionaires make up .0003% of that group. People just like to be angry at simplified problems online ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. It's kind of a disingenuous clickbait title/meme. It'll roll back around in a few months.
I don't know why my replies to myself aren't posting so I'll reply here. This was a joke that no one got, so it must've been a bad one. I originally thought I saved an obligatory "/s" reply to myself since sarcasm doesn't translate well online but I guess that failed. Sorry @op I swear I wasn't trying to be a troll.
Oh damn I guess my other reply to myself didn't post. This was a joke that no one got so I guess it was a bad one, the reply was the obligatory "/s" because sarcasm doesn't translate to text online. Sorry @StreaksOnTheChinaNeverMatteredBefore
As nations reach first world status their birth rates dramatically decline. Every "cool" color here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_overpopulation#/media/File:Total_Fertility_Rate_Map_by_Country.svg is a declining birthrate. We're going to be crowded but the "overpopulation problem" isn't what we thought it would be decades ago. Also the population peak keeps adjusting lower and lower as data pours in.
I have to clarify that I was joking for myself because that felt awful to write
If you can't even find helpful people on the internet what are you doing with a computer?
Happy belated birthday! Sorry your friends forgot about it, that really sucks. I say wait until you're feeling a little better and then take a day to treat yourself to something awesome without the distraction of a birthday let down. Hoping for the best for you
HELL YES this makes me so happy! I've loved the post office ever since I was a kid I'm glad you're working there, it's a rad job and I'm happy to hear that it can pay well. Hope OP can hop on that train as well!
I love it. Great jacket, and your taste in music is stellar! I have a shirt with that same Tull picture on it from when he came through town a number of years ago
I still love some Imgur in a lot of ways, but it's super reductive and cynical, and certain times of year it's just a major bumtown. I removed the app from my phone and just quickly browse from time to time. Also it's probably about time for me to contribute something instead of complain (which I've done a lot of) lol. Maybe I'll post something that feels substantive to me later. I'll tag you in it when I do.
Also yes, it really sucks that AI engineers have THIS much potential upside compared to writers (or teachers, construction workers etc.) it's "market rate" for this kind of position at a top tech company.
While they (and many others) clearly will use AI to cut human costs, the position they listed https://jobs.netflix.com/jobs/278437235 is for expanding their existing ML platform and probably centered around learning from user behavior and improving recommendations and forecasting. It's a pet peeve when things aren't represented accurately, I'm not endorsing Netflix or unethical use of Generative AI, I just can't stand how so little in this world is accurately communicated anymore.
lol you make a good point. Honestly I don't think people are thinking much about it. He's one of the folks in the meme hot seat so, as the internet does, people are finding ways to hate on him. Unfortunately folks like you asking questions (not even endorsing him or his douchey song) like this also catch the vitriol which sucks. I'm wondering if this event lead to him overcompensating in "small town" as cope, I'd be surprised if it didn't.
Honestly, if you know more than I do about these people and you aren't superimposing the moral crimes of the billionaire class on everyone on the vessel (e.g. the kid) then that's a fine take. I'm mostly frustrated at how single minded imgur is and the idea of people not just joking about but celebrating this situation is weird. It was obviously a terrible decision on their part. This is also getting way more attention than it deserves but I commented and am now trapped in a social media spiral
Dude social media is exhausting. Maybe a more imgur compatible way that is still true to my views: "I do fucking hate billionaires and their existence is immoral, and it's 100% fine to say they got what they deserved, but it's nice to see a post looking for humanity in this situation as I don't think many here are thinking beyond the billionaires. The situation got more media attention than it deserved but that doesn't necessarily mean we should shit on all involved without knowing more, gj OP"
This is the false comparison I was getting at. "At least one out of these 5 folks didn't deserve mockery and derision for his death" just doesn't equate to "I don't care about refugee crises". So many folks on social media come in ready to hate on someone, man. I think refugee crisis is awful (bet OP does too) and I don't think billionaires should exist. It feels like everyone turns their brains off and condemns or praises people and situations based purely on associated keywords, it's creepy
