I feel it's an asset to be able to recognize those little details that are indicative of AI, but it's kinda wrecked me how insanely omnipresent it is. Watching a youtube video I'll notice something off, then do a deep(to my ability) dive and find out the video is literally someone else's and they replaced them with an AI person and voice conditioning and my disillusionment is wild haha. Anyways, thanks again for the comment, it's felt funky.

When testing different editing/generation models I noticed that when creating something not seen in the original image (part of someone's face that wasn't visible) each model has tendencies towards certain looks- based on what they're trained on vs prompt. After that my brain did the confusing "why do i kinda recognize that person?" on almost every girl on instagram I don't know personally. "Oh, that girl's a Qwen edit" "that's a Flux9b image" "That skin texture is LTX2.3"
I got to know local diffusion models pretty well when I got my new superPC - open source code, all processing done at home so no paying anyone or using data centers, all private. I wanted to be familiar with my enemy and its limitations. AI music is especially offensive for a lot of reasons, but it's also Bad. I swear once you hear that hallucinated imitation-human pattern that defines it you can't unhear it any time an AI song is playing. It sounds bad, and also, it feels bad.

I’m in school for 3D modeling and animation and it’s wild to me that people don’t realize that AI is unable to perceive/understand 3D space. It has to imitate it from a 2D perspective. Currently the best way to get AI to animate in 3D is to give it 3 different types of maps of the space, and then animate it yourself in a 3D animation program and give that to it so it knows what it’s trying to do - and it still messes it up. You have to do 3x the work for the sake of using AI

Ahh that makes sense. Thanks for the info I didn’t know about the platforms choosing those lengths. 5 sec increments make sense. I don’t TikTok so I just have what I’ve read, which indicated something about their built in editor or promotion algorithm or somesuch encouraged the “influencers” to make videos of that length
Hmmm. None of that is damning from what I know. 15 and 20 sec are the TikTok and shorts preferred lengths, no AI model prefers it specifically. At that length there’d likely be artifacts in a video with contact interaction as it changes between clips since a single clip that long would guaranteed-ly get loopy and weird. The runner turns correctly as they move left and is too few pixels for AI to nail it like that. A bull getting feisty seems a good reason to start filming and it looks handheld
Can I ask how you identified it as AI? AI video generation models have massive issues with things/characters/people interacting with each other in 3D space, especially in a fighty way. If it’s AI someone used a control of a very similar video or multiple types of depth maps. …Or do you just mean it’s a video that’s been edited with AI? Either what was the tell you identified?

One of my best friends moved in to one of the rooms in my apartment I was the leaseholder for and we talked about boundaries and rules and both followed them and it worked out great. I think it was easy cause we both did our work in our own rooms and would kinda meet in common areas for socializing or food. Would text instead of knock unless it was something time sensitive, stayed respectful of fridge/kitchen spaces. I got along better with him then than I do now, strangely. Stated boundariesFTW

Mario RPG is the GOAT. It’s got everything and the humor is amazing. But when I replayed 9, even on an emulator, it felt SLOW. Like REALLY slow. Tons of battles and even on an emulator on a high end PC it like… has built in wait times to start the battle, the graphic to get into the battle is designed to imitate blackstrap molasses, I found myself pushing myself to finish it even when I stopped enjoying it. Is there a version that isn’t a patience-poker?
I’m a consistent replayer of CT, including original, DS, and the combo release versions. But I’ve never gotten through 6. I haven’t put a LOT of time in but it felt like OG FF games where you receive no direction and just kinda wander around forever til you accidentally talk to the right person. The kind of thing I’d have to grow up with to actually enjoy nowadays. Is this inaccurate? Did I play it dumbly? I’d love to enjoy it, and I can’t compare CT since I’ve known where to go for 25+ years
