Tennessee, Texas, just name any republican controlled state and you'll find that they forbid you to teach the truth about what white people did to blacks and natives because "It makes the little white kids uncomfortable." You can read that as "It makes the little white kids go home and ask their parents & grandparents questions that make them uncomfortable." Things like "What did you do while this was happening," and "Did you protest when the black kids went to your school. It pissed mine off.
To be fair, it does kinda imply just that. Not saying it a bad idea, but it is a way of saying something in a way that won't get you banned.
