If you read the reports and do basic research you'll see (1) every repayment billed has been repaid (with interest) by the Treasury, (2) the money borrowed has no impact on the calculation for money available, (3) the real reason for the shortfall is societal and structural having nothing to do with borrowing (as noted, they get interest), (4) the law says the fund ends when it runs out of money (regardless who is in charge; borrowing isn't counted), (5) Sanders tax would still fix most of this

It's also super easy to detect for many organizations. Any company monitoring this also probably already knows or pulls things like which keys were pressed/what programs were open. Then the next time they do layoffs they can fire you with cause (no severance). Companies see it as misconduct, even if you did work the full day, and often have their own IT terms of service which expressly calls this out as cause for termination

"What? Where?"

"Over there. With the drums."

"Huh... No idea..."

although weather in the south can be more volatile in the South (it's still not necessarily more extreme). Many of the risk metrics are based on stochastic models which say things like the occurrence of an extreme event has a one in 250 year probability. This does NOT mean that these events will happen every 250 years. They could happen in back to back years consecutively or not at all. The range is based on occurrences in simulated years, and a lot of people misunderstand this

In 1877 most people died in India and China due to starvation. The modern world is completely different. Global food networks, the use of desalination/ground water extraction, predictive meteorology, no colonialist policies (grain exports continued during the famine), mean death tolls are extremely unlikely to be anywhere near what they were. Food prices can get shocked, but it's already been an extremely mild hurricane season, and el ninos actually make winters in the north less extreme 1/2

I don't know, the subs seem to be doing the heavy lifting. The golden doesn't look particularly thrilled and Huskies are naturally vocal about everything
