To fully learn When it comes to finding people to play there are sites that show game shops local to you and roll20 has online discord games
There’s a lot you can do, if it’s rules you’re concerned with I suggest watching a couple people play a bit online first before trying 1/2
Casually but finding a good group that’s good for you is key to get a real good campaign going and I hope you find one.
3.5 can be good fun but it’s pretty inconvenient to actually get going. Time zones are one of the reasons I use a west marches to play 1/2
