I'm guessing you're not from America, which is totally fine, and lucky you. But in America it's usually considered a faux pas to state exactly what you are. It's seen as stating the opposite of what you said. So, by explicitly stating, "I'm a good guy, she's safe with me." To Americans (maybe this is true for other countries, I don't know, I'm not well traveled) you're basically saying, "I'm a dirtball who would for sure hurt that lady."
That's not how you play Devils Advocate, DevilsAdvocate.
Helldivers 2 does this. It's also a fuckin fantastic game.

To me, they look flat, like 2D, and near the end of the video they look to gain a black outline when they move over the lady's skin. I guess it could be shadow, but it just looks fake.

Depends on the reader too. If they are also new to the genre, like I was when I was 8 and reading HP for the first time. The reader also needs to be versed in the genre to understand the tropes and underlying nuance of genre.
OP's post is about Rosie O'Donnell, who's a pretty outspoken actress. People are confusing her with Roseanne Bar, also an actress, and out spoken, but in a much much worse way.
