easily replaceable should the handle break while camping or hiking. Just shave down a branch and get back to work it’s a single tapered eye
No. It’s just a pressure fit. But I chopped through a 4x4 3 times and some branches. Threw it and it is just as tight. I want it to be 1/2
Ya heat iron or steel till it’s soft and hit it with a hammer until it goes into the shape you want

The brackets are acting as wood bearings. They are made from hickory and are greased. Actually pretty strong there are parts on the frame
I also am hooking a motor up soon. Probably a bad idea but you live and you learn

It skates a 60 hrc file and the way I tempered should’ve left it 60-61 hrc
It’s edge very nicely. Thank you!
It’s only sharpened to 600 and takes super nice slices. Can’t wait to get it up to 6k! Gonna be a razor. And it’s super hard so should hold
Ah haha. I stoped playing many video games and started forging a bit back so I’m a bit out of touch with that kinda stuff
2 hours of swinging a 4.75 lbs hammer ;)

If you’d like. Just have to have good control and not miss and hit the anvil
I use 4140 although 1045 is also common. 45-50 Rockwell is average hardness because they are forging hammers. You can make it a bit harder
