I'm a 30 year old Australian who lives in the desert of Western Australia, in a large mining town called Kalgoorlie. We have the third biggest open cut mine in the world... Like, right next to town. It's quite bizarre. I am qualified to be an accountant, which I don't do. Instead I became a teacher, and now I teach kids from 5 to 12 to use computers. I love this job immensely. I have a 7 year old step-daughter who I've been raising since she was 18 months, and I have a 3 year old son. They're both crazy energetic and pretty great. My partner let me name our son Tyler, and my last name is really close to Durden... This makes me irrationally pleased. I got lucky - I got admitted to a psych unit when I was at my worst, and I know people have mixed results with those, but my experience was extremely positive. Daily check ups with psychiatrists, good food provided regularly, social programs that were really enjoyable. I came out a different person. I mean, I nearly died on the way in, but I appreciated the outcome.
Just looked it up; 0.2% of the population of WA is jewish, and the vast majority live in Perth... so, honestly, it's quite possible that I just really haven't. (I didn't say I'd never met any; just that I didn't think I'd known (like, worked with or gone to school with))
