Hi everyone! I’m Kate, aka KittensForDays. I have been fostering kittens and cats since 2014, and have probably had over 500 come through my house. The most euthanized animal in shelters is kittens under 8 weeks old. They don’t do well in shelters because of all the infectious diseases. Their immune systems just can’t handle it. They also often require specialized resources (bottle feeding or medications for diarrhea that they almost all get), and most shelters just don’t have the staff to do that. Enter: fosters! I take kittens that would otherwise be euthanized, and pregnant cats who would otherwise be spayed, and raise them. When they’re over 2 lbs, I get them neutered and bring them back where they usually get adopted within a couple of days! The shelter covers all medical expenses, I just pay for litter and food and stuff like toys, cat trees, puppy pads, etc. It can get expensive, especially when they need special food. (An awesome imgurian asked me if I have an Amazon wish list or a ko-fi so they could help my cause…so here you go! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2K634G59XZTP4?ref_=wl_share https://ko-fi.com/kittensfordays I expect NOTHING, but it doesn’t hurt to share it!) I always say I foster for purely selfish reasons. Everyone who knows me, knows I’m happier when I have kittens. A lot of people ask me how I can give them back when it’s time. I have only ever had two foster fails, my two girls Madison and Scooty Booty. I haven’t had any other foster fails for a few reasons: One, a bunch of eight-week-old kittens is like a tornado rushing around the kitten room/house, destroying everything in its path. And my legs get shredded by their little claws. After a few weeks of that destruction, I am more than willing to let them go to their forever home! Two, I think about the people who will adopt them - the older couple who want companionship, the child who is finding their new best friend, the single person who needs someone to come home to at the end of the day. And three, I just plain can’t afford another cat. One of my girls is special needs, and she’s going to require a lot of medical care. Don’t wanna get spread so thin money-wise that I can’t take care of her. Ok, enough rambling. If you ever have questions about fostering, I am more than willing to share my experiences with you. And I love the little community I’ve found on Imgur - even if I still don’t know how to pronounce
Guillermo!!! I miss that little nose
That’s not even fair
Omg I watched this like five times and got teary eyed each time. She loves that kitten SO much

It just slipped out!!
Oh geez. Tell NO ONE!!!
Good point!!
Just a little!!
Aww that’s depressing. Sorry they didn’t step up
I’m so sorry, friend. My old boy Thomas is on the other side of the rainbow bridge, too. I’ll send him over to welcome your baby Lilly
Woot woot!! Congrats, that is AWESOME!!
❤️❤️
Aww, give your boys kisses from me, please!
Ohhh, good idea!!
I’m still a little mad at you because you saw Frank’s potential and stole him away from me. But whatever. Happy to have assisted you in getting the best kitten ever 😊
Oh You 😂 Happy birthday! Give Frank, Chessie, and Poodles forehead kisses from me. Oh, and yourself. Wait, no, that’s weird. Just imagine a big ol’ hug from me!!
I legit thought that for a minute but no, she just ignores me 😂
I did not, thank you for telling me!!
D’aww, thanks 😊
Yeah, she’s prolly only 6 weeks old now and they’ve had her for a few weeks. Luckily she was eating solid food when they found her, which is super advanced for her age. No wonder she’s so food motivated now
I love that for you, Yayay!!
Wow, they are SO lucky you found them!!
I’m tossing out tons of toys and she is having a great time! But yes, I’m hoping the humane society gets some new kittens who need a foster soon so she’s got play buddies
