Hello, yes, this is Not

It's Aunty Donna! Combination of nurse skits from their "Glennridge Secondary College" series on youtube and "Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun" on Netflix

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress could be read in such a way. Robert Heinlein, it's a classic.

I apologize for my insistence on noting procedural details. For the purposes of conversation we can agree that Nancy Mace is horrible legislator and a despicable person who would, without a doubt, vote down the release of the Epstein files.

I appreciate that this is what you think. The distinction is important for procedural reasons, but not for character reasons. I do not doubt that Nancy Mace is a two-faced liar who would gleefully welcome the return of the nazi party. The narrative that republicans are stonewalling the release of the files is massively useful to democrats, as it should be. I dislike misrepresentations of fact, however, and do my best to present information dispassionately.

This is not a vote on the Epstein files themselves, but a procedural vote to reconsider the legislation on the floor and allow for additional amendments. The republicans voted down the motion to reconsider. If that motion had passed, an amendment proposed by Ro Khanna to compel AG Pam Bondi to preserve, compile, and publish the Epstein files would have been voted on. The motion did not pass, and no such vote occurred.

Nancy Mace, while one of the worst humans I've had the displeasure of hearing speak, did not vote against the Epstein Files release. there was no full house vote. Rep. Jim McGovern of MA introduced amendments in the house rules committee which would have allowed a vote on the floor, but these were voted down by republican members of the committee. Nancy Mace is not a member of the house rules committee.

Looks a lot like a hornworm caterpillar but is missing the distinct V shaped white markings on the body. The thin yellow line along its side is a distinctive feature of the copper underwing moth caterpillar, so that'd be my best guess

capitalists, as always, are the true enemy.

Fair point. I'm not familiar with the previous seat holder's voting record, as he did not represent my district, but there have been problems in the past within NY state's legislature of conservative moderates running under the democratic ticket. It's definitely still good news, just confusing as to why the tweet characterizes it both as "shocking" and "flipped," when neither of those claims are true at face value.

Also important to note that "flipped" is inaccurate; this seat was previously held by a democrat, which the article explains but the tweet does not reflect.

Very good and useful election win. Important to clarify that this is a state senate seat, where democrats outnumber republicans 2:1, and does not necessarily have significant bearing on national events.

This is the only opinion that matters to me. People need to read about the survivors of self-immolation, or recognize that over 100 people have burned themselves to death to free Tibet. it's compounded loss and unimaginable desperation.

Second time today saying this: self immolation is heinous. suicide does nothing but amplify pain and remove one voice from the choir of dissidence. you're more trouble to oppressors alive than dead. the conductors of genocide want more dead bodies. dying gives them what they want.

TY for the edit, probably not necessary but appreciated nonetheless. For an extra funtime activity I like to try to source references and such, check out reference 21 and try to figure out when the ESA ever gathered data on gender splits for "competitive games," a term which is not defined by ESA or the paper itself.
