I think it's definitely worth it but it's hard to sell to those who want minimal taxes.
It's a pretty high share of working people's salary to cover everyone (children, elderly, unemployed) with universal healthcare.
In Estonia, with a 2000 euro salary fund, net salary is roughly 1000. The other half is for income tax, healthcare, retirement fund etc.
Then 1700% rise is out of the question and people don't go bankrupt when getting ill. In the US the system benefits the companies only.

Most governments legally limit the cost to healthcare. Either subsidise or ban raising prices. US doesn't.

Fly to Europe to have it replaced. Much much cheaper. If you get a contract to work here, they do it for free as well.
