One of my favorite things about Bach is that we don't know how all his music should actually sound. Modern keyboards are tuned to equal temperament which makes all keys sound alike but didn't become mainstream until after Bach. Bach grew up on meantone temperaments which improved on earlier tunings by making all but 2-3 keys usable, but every key sounded different depending on which of several methods of well-tempering was used. Bach never wrote down how he tuned.

In Britain in the 1700 and 1800's grain taxes were extremely important so breweries often kept impeccable records. We basically have all these recipes already and several contemporary breweries have recreated them. We even have a written Babylonian beer recipe that's maybe a few decades older than Ea-nāṣir's hate-mail.
Never forget that stores don't put Halloween merch on the shelves in June because they think people like Halloween... They're just trying to get it out of the way so they can put the Christmas stuff out sooner.

Workday gives you an internal score that follows you across every one of hundreds of accounts you wind up having to create to apply anywhere that uses Workday and heaven help you if you have resume gaps the current average length of a job search (6 months) or are over 40 because Workday is gonna make DAMN sure you never work a day again.

Not really relevant but I bought the blu ray of that movie and there's a few commentaries on there, my favorite is Brendan Fraser by himself in the studio just sort of quietly talking about how wonderful all his costars are and then forgetting to give commentary for 5 minutes because he just loves watching the movie. It's like he wasn't on the main cast commentary so he snuck into the studio in the middle of the night to record his own.
Johns was a bounty hunter, which depending on your system is considered an archetype for either a rogue or a ranger.
I always want maps like that to have some other errors/digs hiding in them. Like "All obama" instead of "Alabama" or something.
"Blame" implies they understand what they did is harmful. Investors are more important than employees, these companies are letting the important people know they're doing the "good market thing" that important people like and shitcanning "costs" so they can invest in an hallucination engine that burns down Arizona to flatter the CEO and be wrong about things.
For some reason I always think that would be funnier if they used the full Senior Chief Petty Officer Miles Edward O'Brien.
The existence of the orphan crushing machine tends to get very little press but everybody loves a good human interest story about when they turn it off for 5 minutes. I dunno if it's media literacy or cynicism to call it out at this point.
Extremely dense forest definitely isn't the norm, nature thrives with _variety_ so plains, wetlands, lots of transition areas are more common. Huge trees need a lot of water to support them, that just doesn't exist everywhere, and removes that water from surrounding areas. Also plants need sunlight, if dense forest blocks it all new plants can't grow.
Most of the Chuck Norris jokes I knew were just recycled Bill Brasky jokes from 90's SNL.
Or at least not only "American cheese", they have to say like "Cheese Product" even if they're leaning on "American" for marketing. So outside of the deli section you see a lot of "American cheese product" but the good stuff is just pasteurized cheese, not product.
"American cheese" is usually a young cheddar or colby. You're talking about that golden yellow "Processed Cheese Product" that is often synonymous with American cheese but doesn't actually say that on the label.
Not really. Repo! tends to present the surgeries more as luxury experiences for the rich and famous than necessary health procedures for the working class being made unaffordable. The repo man himself is being extorted into his role by the head of the company instead of becoming a victim of circumstance forced to experience how the other half lives. And of course it's a rock opera with themes of addiction and teenage coming-of-age.

Apart from the dog that's the 2nd least joyful ball pit I've ever seen. Sometimes I miss when things were made in colors.
Arguably "In The Pale Moonlight" has some of the best acting in television. Even that silly "IT'S A FAAAAAKE!" line is kinda perfectly Romulan. But fuck man, Avery Brooks is incredible across the show... his monologue here is awesome and do you really need to say much more than "Benny Russell"?Side note, I really got a kick out of Strange New Worlds' first season featuring a children's fantasy book written by Benny Russell.
At the time, I actually enjoyed the Xindi arc more than the earlier seasons. Though they did have a planetary war because the Avians would've blown the budget, so they got extinct'd. I don't think they had any idea what to do with a "Temporal Cold War", but the writers could sink their teeth into the Xindi. On rewatch Archer really doesn't pull off the moral conflict and is just kinda hard to watch towards the end of the arc.
Strange New Worlds seems like the first Trek series to actually be having any fun since...Voyager I guess. Enterprise was an interesting premise and I liked it well enough but they never really stuck to the premise and most of the series felt pretty phoned-in.
