I dated an American for a few years, and finally got fed up with him thinking he paid less in taxes. We compared our cheques side-by-side. He lived in Washington state, I'm in B.C. End result (with virtually identical income bracket), was that he was paying about 1.5% more than me, but I had healthcare while he was coughing up another $700/month for that. AND I don't live in a shithole country. Americans are SO brainwashed to think they are the best country when they are the worst.
