If the fist bump with the Janitor and the Scale were missing I was going to really disappointed. These are all awesome.
Some Standing Ashtrays had a bar over the ash catcher that held smokes, the ash catcher, which is what this may be, had no grooves.

I have to agree, the notches are obviously used to center this on a stand of some sort. My guess would be that it is an ashtray.
