I oddly know exactly what you mean.I think a lot of that feeling (for me) comes from the story and voice acting, while not bad, isn't very captivating.

Flux is better imo. At night the screen can still be to bright. Alt+PgDn decreases brightness in steps, among other features lacking in W10
