Whoops, forgot about the recess. Not enough room for more than 2 bolts. I would still want some other reinforcement, for myself anyway.

Maybe, but I've had tables with 2 bolts/leg (and no stretchers) and there was always too much shimmy. I like things solid.
Could have bolted through the pine before wrapping the oak and the legs would still have been removable. And 2 bolts a corner is too few.
