Whilst there are upgrades you should do before adding HP(tyres, wheels, brakes, suspension), I have seen plenty get better with big upgrades

Its not like a normal jerb that you leave at work, its constantly on your mind "am i doing enough" "is this right" "wtf is that"
Its really taxing mentally - youre basically working all the time. Im still working now at 8.40PM because I thought of something earlier.1/2
oddly, most PhDs in the UK dont - they leave after the 3 years HATING academia and swear never to return! I love it personally
I ask the exact same question about most of the undergrads I teach LOL.
Anything can be overrated, here in the UK we are treated like general undergrads by the outside world. So usually, we are underrated already
How the outside world perceives PhDs as these smart, wonderful people. Its just a career choice when you boil it down to bare bones.
