You're correct, of course: if they allow it for me, they'd have to allow it for all - except I already had an allowance in the previous lease. So they don't need to allow pets in leases going forward, only in those that already exist. And while it sucks that there are some pretty shitty pet owners out there (there are) I think I have demonstrated that I am not one of them.
