The gap between the bottom of the lock and the bottom of the lid is greater with the lock pushed all the way up. It'd just slide right off.
I get the distinct feeling that this person is slightly upset. Can't figure out why, though.
The rock that caused the car to slide probably saved that driver from getting flattened.
