The last thing I printed just cause it looks neat was an octopus that's still sitting on the corner of my shelf for the last 5 years. Everything else has been printed for a purpose. Could I make things using other plastic? Sure. Will using a bit of PLA to print a ready-made model be worse than buying a bunch of PVC pipes I need to spend a lot of time cutting and shaping and joining? Doubt it. Let me know the next time you stick it to the man by using the good kind of plastic.

You know what I have? A 3D printer and lots of rolls of filament, a bunch of which is old and not particularly special. You know what I don't have? PVC pipes of various lengths and diameters and balloons.

And then in order to overcome the additional weight, use some manner of engine to power it? And perhaps to make it more comfortable, attach some kind of seat system? And while we're at it and talking about safety, maybe put a shell all around it and build in things like airbags and seat belts? And then since the system is already there, it'd be pretty good to make it large enough to seat more than one person and also carry luggage. Would be pretty cool.
