The "castration stimulating chemicals" are just a high dose of hormones that already exist in the body. Not unsafe.
I know it is. I was just replying to this person who thought that chemical castration was better. It's an alternative, but not a good one.
Could be used then wait ~30d for the skatale to go away then you can slaughter him. His meat will (should) be fine.
That's a form of chemical castration and doesn't last forever (6mos tops). It's also not available in the US yet.

Feed for the weight you want your cat to be. There's specific weight loss food and instructions on the side of the bag for different weights
2/2 and NSAIDs. Exercise your dog every day and make sure the pain is controlled. And use glucosamine if you see positive results, too!
As a vet student learning about DJD right now, glucosamine is fine but the 3 tenets of treatments are muscle building, obesity avoidance 1/2
