I don't think ears work the same. Losing function with eyes is neurological, ears are mechanical first. Correct me if I'm wrong. 1/2

You can adjust the pressure in your ear by holding your nose and blowing. If he had no eardrum, then *maybe* he could technically force air.
I'm shocked a swimming teacher didn't understand that "water will pour past my eardrum where it should never be"

Definitely related. That's why there's such a push for early, bilateral cochlear implantation.
Patients work closely with speech-language pathologists and Audiologists to re-train the brain to differentiate sounds. It's amazing!
Yes! And so sad! This is why therapy after getting the apparatus is SO important and intensive! Source: I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist.
