Not to get political, or in any way to justify what the orange asshole is doing, because the trees are beautiful — but weren’t they essentially Japan bribing us to look the other way as they went nuts in China and Korea?

Absolute Hero. He has a great line along similar lines at the end of his guest appearance in Voltron (1985) that I’ll try to find — the episode is “Enter Merla , Queen of Darkness”.
Yayoi Kusama’s estate announced her passing last night (this morning in Japan). She’s an artist whose work you’ll probably recognize. It happened two weeks ago but jeez, the announcement timing.

How could we ever have anticipated this?????????? (Don’t tell us about “talking to consumers” or “math” or any of that nonsense, we don’t have any reason to listen to the plebeians)
At the same time, though, what they write might be a lot more interesting for people who aren’t as well-versed in the genre, particularly if the style is fresh. Everyone brings something different to the table. (Or at least, there are many different things that can be brought to the table.)

#39 true story, I witnessed this happen on a camping trip as a Boy Scout, and several years later when I was in Best Buy looking at unfamiliar new albums, it was ultimately the reason I chose Porcupine Tree over Arctic Monkeys, and that’s why I am the way I am today.
That really elevates the photo from “sad” to “bordering on dystopian”
Who needs long term planning, though? You’ve got short term profits AND cruelty, and they’re both legal. Is there anything else that people can even want???
