I wonder if trying to remain friends may end up prolonging your pain. I have often stayed friends with exes, but it's not always the best thing for the heart. Especially if anyone has lingering feelings, which it sounds like your ex wife has. Sometimes it is kinder to cut things off completely and allow ourselves to heal.
That sounds like crap dude. If anything would ever qualify for being worse than chronic pain, it would be intense intermittent pain. It's hard to get pain relief that works with that kind of pain.
Yeah, chronic pain really does suck. I have a condition called Graft versus Host Disease, which mainly affects my skin. About 4 years ago I started to get lesions in my armpits, groin and abdo fold that kept getting worse and just would not heal. I had to get them dressed twice a week by a nurse and could only manage it if I took oxycodone beforehand. Horrendous. Finally cleared them up with a course of immunoglobulin, but it took nearly 3 years.
Sorry to hear that. Is the pain caused by neuropathy? I have a bit in my feet and I get nerve pain there from time to time. I've been wondering what it is.
I once had the pleasure of 2 highly venomous Eastern Brown Snakes in my house at the same time. Hot summer day, long story, but everyone survived ok. Best part for me was that it completely cured me of my fear of snakes. Best part for them was that I didn't kill or hurt them. They're protected where I live, but many people kill them anyway. Definite win for all.

LeMay reportedly liked the fact that they didn't have to used high explosives first to open up the buildings like they did in Europe. It was all just napalm in Japan because the houses were wood and paper. A truly nasty business.
