I know some retired people / people over 60. There is one person in that group that is unreasonable as you described. I am still "young" enough to know people under 20, I would say idiots are in all generations.No need to speak of a whole generation as "them", when 99% of "them" are in the same boat.

The next generation will push the output per rack above 200KW, estimations say we could reach 600KW per rack relative soon.just heat radiation is not enough anymore, they are spraying a fine dust of water of the heat exchangers to get rid of these stupid amounts of heat.
They let the "clouds" just escape, in fact, the faster the warm goes away, the better. Perhaps tings change in future, but right now the big tech companies want the stuff online asap. And even if things settle down, hosting LLMs is expensive. Nobody has figured out a way to be profitable. I doubt that they will spend the money to install the giantly huge closed loop system that would be required to get rid of all the heat.
There are differences. The computational work required for LLMs is not comparable to any conventional datacenter stuff. Until before the AI bubble, datacenters were cooled with A/Cs. That is not feasible anymore. Instead water is vaporized to get rid of the energy. Think of the difference between a candle and a bonfire.
The heat (and a lot of it) has to go somewhere. Water is vaporized to get rid of the heat because the air heat exchangers required for these amounts of heat would be too expensive and too big. Hosting LLMs is expensive enough as it is and microslop and co are not inclined to pay one penny more than necessary.

If a division through 0 returns a nan, then that is the security mechanism is wrote about. Without it, the program would have "crashed" right at the division, as in the cpu/core would have got stuck in an infinite look on a hardware level.
It's trapped in an infinite loop, trying to subtract nothing from the number and then checking if there is still a rest.Our modern computers would do the same if there wasn't a not-null check before a division.

While it is true that Memory suppliers do price fixing, just like all industries that are bundled together in ETFs, the current price surge is mainly attributed to a high demand in HBM memory. That are memory chips that are stacked on top of each other and have a lower yield than conventional memory. So, higher demand while the production has gone down results in an deficit. This chart is obviously from before the Rampocalypse. RAM and storage got extremely expensive because AI datacenters "need" a all of it.So, one can cross Computers out of this list. Even old hardware is becoming more expensive (since no one can afford new hardware).
I heard that they used mainly older rockets that would have been disposed anyway (because they can't be stored infinitely).They also used up relative new rockets that are in production since about a year. Which is not a bad idea as production is still ramping up and if there are problems, now is the time to find out (before you build and pay for thousands of problematic expensive rockets).
