It wasn't about beliefs per se, mostly not wanting to go it alone anymore and have an org behind us. AG fit the bill and we had friends in.
Wanted the fellowship and support of like-minded pastors. When we approached AG we wound up merging with an AG church. It's been good.
I was raised Assemblies of God. Worked non-denominational for years. Back with the Assemblies now.
Most mainstream Christian denominations consider JW a cult and definitely not Christian. The issue is their defective Christology.

Yeah, it is Jehovah's Witness teaching that Michael and Jesus are the same. The Bible teaches in Hebrews that God did not call an angel son
