The borax acts as flux, allowing the metal to be more flowable. I've used the same crucible to form a gold crown in dental school. :)
one tooth = local anesthesia not sedation, which means your gag reflex will be in tact. you'll be fine. :)
you'll be fine. this is a very rare occurence - even if they put you completely under for the surgery. Most people just get numbed locally.
if you don't have dental anxiety and they aren't impacted, you can get them out without this kind of sedation. Easy peasy.
Surgery is best for impacted (sideways) teeth that need the bone cut out.. on this radiograph, these look relatively easy to extract.
